A brief glimpse of ‘God’s own country’, staring with the A640 Nont Sarah’s road from Outlane to Denshaw, panning across the Deanhead valley, which was flooded to create the Scammonden Reservoir when the Scammonden Dam/embankment was built in the 1960’s to carry the Yorkshire - Lancashire motorway M62. Scammonden bridge can just be made out on the far side of the dam. In the distance Halifax is visible.
