Some photos taken during visits to Sykkylven and Ikornes in Sunmøre during 1999 and 2000.

The construction of Sykkylven Bridge was financed locally through the Ekornes company, costing 140 million kroner and recovered through tolls. The bridge was opened on the 14th October 2000. It provides a link between Sykkylven and Ikornes, where the ‘Stressless’ furniture factory is located, saving a detour of some 10km around the head of the fjord.

The bridge is 860 metres long with 15 spans, the longest span is 60 metres, and the maximum clearance to the sea is 16 metres.
